What’s the next big thing in social networking? Well it just might be Pheed, the latest social media site getting the buzz online that has celebrities sitting up and taking notice.
Pheed much like Facebook and Twitter allows you to follow people and people follow you back. You can comment on people’s posts and they can comment on yours. Nothing new I hear you say, but wait there’s more (free set of steak knives not included)…unlike its competitors, Pheed allows you to post audio files as well as videos up to four hours in length. You can upload images of any size and naturally, plain text posts are also allowed.
Sound good so far? Ok well here’s the kicker, Pheed grants users complete control over their posted content by putting it behind a ‘paywall’. Users can charge followers a set fee of $1.99 up to $34.99 a month to view their feed. Naturally, Pheed gets a cut of the profits. The network also lets users watermark their content as a preventative measure against plagiarism or theft.
The celebrity uptake has been pretty quick. Celebs like Leona Lewis, Paris Hilton, Miley Cyrus, Slash and Chloe Moretz are already using the service. But soon you might have to pay to follow them.
Signup is easy and takes only seconds to start your account, using an email address or logging in using either your Facebook or Twitter you are ready to start Pheeding.
Pheed has been the number one most downloaded free app in the App Store under the social networking category, outranking both Facebook and Twitter.
Head on over and try it for yourself, who knows your popularity and inventiveness may just earn you a schilling or two!
